My name is Princess. I’m a very loving Shepard mix who was going to be surrendered to a high-kill shelter. You see, my owner had gotten me as a “free puppy” but she learned that no dogs are truly "free". As I got older, she realized she couldn’t afford basic vet care. And now that I'm all grown up and full of energy, she thought it best that I move on. I wasn’t a bad dog. It wasn’t my fault. I just wasn’t cute and small anymore. Well actually, I am still very cute! But please don’t get a “free dog” if you can’t commit to us for our lifetime or afford our vet care. It hurts when we are discarded and puts our lives at risk. But I’m honestly grateful because now I have all my vaccines that protect me from disease and I’m spayed so that I won’t have puppies who might end up like me. I love my foster home where I have lots of dogs to play with and can stretch my legs and run in a back yard. And I absolutely love kittens! Do you have a cat in your house I can play with? Because I’m still learning about the big world, I can be a little shy when I meet new people, but it only takes a few minutes for me to fall in love with you. If you adopt me, I’ll want to be by your side and be held in your lap. I’ll make you feel like the most important person in the world, because to me, you are.
