Description:
Gidget has a sad background and deserves nothing but a safe and loving home to live out her golden years. When she came to a shelter as a stray, her owners did not want her back due to her age. She entered our rescue incredibly matted and neglected and required emergency grooming that even required shaving mats that were caked over her eyes. Gidget can’t see or hear but learns to navigate her world and while she’s not super affectionate, she has no issues being picked up. She also seems to feel comforted knowing other dogs are close by and accepts snuggles from other dogs. She seems house trained and loves exploring the yard and loves finding all the dog beds in the house and testing them out. She also likes to sun herself in a comfy dog bed on her foster’s screened in patio. The shelter estimated Gidget to be 17 years old and our vet could only verify that she is in her “teens” but possibly younger than 17. Regardless, age is not a disease and this sweet girl deserves loving home. We are still evaluating some of her medical needs but Gidget is available to foster or “foster to adopt”. She can go to a home with other calm dogs, dog friendly cats or teenagers.
