Meet Hopkins – Seeking a Behaviorally Experienced Adopter

Hopkins is a striking 3-year-old French Bulldog with a big personality and an even bigger heart for those he trusts. He has a spirited, playful side, especially when it comes to his favorite squeaky, light-up disco ball. Hopkins delights in showing off his toy like a trophy and enjoys bursts of joyful energy, but he also needs a calm, structured environment to truly thrive.  And don’t be surprised if you get a paw on the arm or some woofs letting you know he is ready for cheek rubs.

Why Hopkins Needs a Special Home
Hopkins didn’t have the smoothest start—he came to a shelter as a stray and was labeled difficult to handle by staff, which put him on the euthanasia list. When his previous owner was located through his microchip, they declined to reclaim him. Hopkins was on the brink of euthanasia when a patient volunteer saw his potential and shared videos of him being affectionate and accepting pets. In his current foster home, he has shown his sweet side but we have also uncovered  significant behavioral challenges that require careful management.

Hopkins is looking for an experienced dog handler who understands behaviorally complex dogs, particularly French Bulldogs, and who can provide:

• A calm, structured, and predictable environment.
• A home without small children or frequent visitors.
• A commitment to ongoing training and management.
• A safe space where he can feel secure.
