Description:
Meet Hopkins – The Chill, Loyal Companion Looking for His Perfect Match!
Hopkins is a calm, reserved French Bulldog who’s been through a lot of change recently. Abandoned at a shelter by his previous family, he arrived shut down and unsure of what was happening. His former owners reported that he could be snappy, and they had young children—however, since coming into our care, Hopkins has proven to be a lovely, low-maintenance guest. We believe he was simply overwhelmed in his prior environment and struggled with young kids who didn’t respect his boundaries.
Despite his past, Hopkins is a very easygoing little guy. He doesn’t ask for much—just a peaceful home where he can feel safe, understood, and appreciated. While he prefers a quiet life, he’s slowly starting to blossom. He’s even joined his dog friends in playful backyard romps, showing off his growing confidence! But his greatest love? His squeaky, light-up disco ball. Hopkins is absolutely obsessed with it, valuing it more than treats or food—it’s his pride and joy!
Hopkins thrives with gentle structure and clear expectations. He’s the kind of dog who will happily follow you around and curl up beside you, but if you let him get too attached too soon (like sleeping in your bed every night), he might turn into a bit of a crybaby when left alone. Setting loving boundaries actually helps him feel more secure and settle in with ease.
He’s not a needy or demanding dog—just one who deserves a calm, understanding home where he can finally relax. Because of his past experiences, we’re looking for a home without small children. He’d do best with adults or families with respectful teens who understand that Hopkins deserves his space.
If you’re looking for a low-maintenance, independent companion with a quirky love for squeaky toys and a heart ready to trust again, Hopkins might just be your perfect match!
