What do a Pit Bull and One Eyed Cat have in common?
YOU!!! Both Shelly [left] and Billy [right] were scheduled to be euthanized the day we rescued them! People like YOU make it possible for us to save the most at-risk dogs and cats who have the greatest medical needs.
Shelly's Story: Shelly was a neglected, overbred mom living tied up in a back yard when Animal Control came to take her puppies away. They came back for her and she entered the shelter with dermatitis, was emaciated, heartworm positive, and covered in ticks. She also suffered from an upper respiratory infection. Shelly had no rescue interest and was scheduled to die along with 13 other dogs the day we rescued her from the shelter. Heartworms are a death sentence for shelter dogs because heart worms are costly to treat and time intensive to treat. Shelly would not be alive today without supporters like you and a loving, patient foster mom who opened up her home and heart to Shelly. Shelly has since been adopted and is living her best life with her new dad!
One-Eyed Billy's Story: Billy had an end of day euthanasia deadline due to his ruptured eye which required immediate surgery the shelter could not provide. We did not hesitate to rescue him thanks to donors like you! We provided his eye enucleation surgery and he recovered in his loving fostered home. He has since been adopted. Billy may have lost an eye but was given a new outlook on life thanks to supporters like you!
