Amplify Our Mission To Save Lives

Give During Amplify Austin March 5 & 6

DONATE

Amplify Austin kicks off at 6:00 pm today to encourage 24 hours of giving and community collaboration across Austin! It's a day where you can truly make a difference and create positive change in the lives of shelter pets by making a gift of any size. And during this giving period, your impact could be doubled! An anonymous funder has offered a $25,000 matching grant to be distributed to all Animal Care & Service organizations like ours!

WHO WE ARE - OUR FAVORITE BREED IS RESCUED.

No animal is too old, too sick or the wrong breed. We are an all-breed, all-age dog and cat rescue, often taking on the animals who have the least chance of making it out of the shelter alive such as senior pets, long-stay dogs or cats, bonded pairs, pregnant animals, ringworm cats and kittens, immobile animals [See Suzy Q's Story], heartworm positive dogs or injured and sick animals. While in foster care, we nurse them back to health and provide the physical and the emotional rehabilitation they need to become ready to join their new families.

Our 2020 goal is to save 500 animals from euthanasia and to start a family assistance program to help pets like Cori [his story is below] stay in their loving homes. Your support can help us get there as it funds vital medical care, ranging from routine spay/neuter and vaccines, to heartworm treatments, emergency hospitalizations and surgeries.

Your support is vital for us to continue our life-saving efforts. Every dollar donated helps continue medical treatments and care for neglected and abandoned animals.   Here are ways you can give:

  • Donate through Amplify Austin [Preferred for Matching Gift Opportunities.  In addition to the matching grant funds, Tito's will add $5 to your gift if you #LoveTitos at checkout]

Suzy Q, an adorable kitten, was facing euthanasia at the shelter. She could not move her body, raise her head or use a litter box.  Thankfully, she found a loving foster home so we could save her. She suffered some type of trauma to her head or neck but x-rays were inconclusive. With medication, patience and physical therapy, she has made almost a full recovery and is a very active kitty.  And, her amazing foster decided to adopt her.  Click her photo to see her video.

Cori (left/poodle) had broken out of his yard and was found wandering in the street by a New Hope volunteer.  He was matted and dirty but looked like he was well-fed and seemed like he was loved. We searched tirelessly for a possible owner and kept him with one of our fosters to avoid sending this senior pup to the shelter. While in our care, we would discover that Cori was heartworm positive, a disease that is deadly if left untreated. We eventually reunited Cori with his family who were not aware that heartworms were such a deadly threat to their beloved pet. So Cori could remain with his family who loves him dearly, we are funding his heartworm treatment, which will cost $600.  We also could have reunited the family with Cori sooner had his microchip been up to date. We counseled the the family to update his chip, provided him with a collar and ID tags and returned him to them freshly groomed (grooming donated by Adventure Day Pet Care).  It is our goal to help keep loved, owned pets with their families and out of the shelter. Let's keep pets and people together when so many other pets are abandoned. We could not help Cori without donors like you, so thank you!
