Covid-19 Displacing People and Pets

View this email in your browser The Covid-19 pandemic has caused countless people and pets to be displaced.   Every day, we receive emails from loving pet owners who are begging us to take in their dogs or cats because they are losing their homes. We wanted to share one story of a 10 year old Newfoundland named Emerson who recently joined our rescue.   A 10 year old Newfoundland named Emerson forced to part with his loving owner due to Covid-19's impact on our economy.    Emerson's owner lost her job due to Covid-19 and is now forced to move in a with a friend where her pets are not welcome. Emerson also has costly and ongoing medical needs, including a large mass engulfing his lower teeth that will require surgery. We will make sure Emerson receives the best of care.  These are humbling times for many of us who are facing an uncertain future. But this pandemic is also an opportunity for us to plant seeds of compassion for a better world by helping those around us with what little we do have. For our part, we will continue to help struggling pet owners in any way we can. Someone had cut off her ears and her tail.  But watch how she and her babies are doing now!  While we hear sad stories daily, we wanted to give a happy updated on sweet Loaf. Someone had cut the ears and tail off of this sweet mama cat who gave birth during transport to our rescue. Watch this heartwarming video update [watch with sound]. Her tail and ears had been cut off, but she is still the sweetest cat.  Here is  a happy updatate about Loaf and her babies.    While we live in an evolving and uncertain time, our love of animals and empathy for struggling pet owners remains constant and unwavering.
