Ella's Special Heart Changed Their Lives
More pets like Ella are counting on us to give them hope! Hope for a happy life full of love and fun experiences despite having a medical challenge. And in sweet Ella's case, a severe heart condition.
When puppy Ella was at our vet to be spayed, he called us with some troubling news. He discovered she had a 5 out of 6 heart murmur. Thanks to supporters like you, we chose to hold off on spaying her and had her seen by Cardiac Care for Pets [CVCA] where they did a full cardiac evaluation including echocardiogram. We would learn Ella had severe narrowing of her heart valve. We put her on a medication to help regulate her heart rate and she would see our primary vet monthly over the course of several months to have her heart rate checked. Ella was seen again by CVCA for another heart evaluation where they determined she could safely be spayed following a specific anesthesia protocol. We assure you that Ella was in great hands with Dr. Troia who has spayed and neutered countless pets with this condition, including his own dog.
But Ella's amazing adopters are the real heroes in her story, adopting her knowing that her long-term prognosis and future medical needs can't be predicted.
