Sweet David once was facing euthanasia at a shelter outside of Austin but his New Hope foster mom came to his rescue just in time. He is now so loved! He regularly attends open play group at Southpaws Playschool and shops the aisles of stores proudly carrying his selected toy in his mouth [see video]! He also attends his foster mom's stand up comedy shows in the evenings, joining her on stage because Dave lights up every room he enters.
But now we’ve hit a roadblock: David needs ACL surgery on his right rear leg to live a pain-free life. He’s limping, uncomfortable, and unable to fully enjoy the happy ending he was promised.

We were the only ones who said yes to David when his life was in immediate danger. But now we need your help. This surgery isn’t optional—it’s essential.
We’ve obtained quotes from multiple veterinarians, and the two most affordable estimates including our rescue discount range from $3,330 to $3,500.
We have many critical medical cases we are needing to fund right now, so are not able to schedule Dave's surgery until we raise at least half of these estimates provided by New Hope Animal Hospital and Prairie Creek Animal Hospital.
We’re not taxpayer-funded. We rely on volunteers and donor support to do the work that shelters and systems too often leave undone. And the truth is, we’re financially stretched too thin.
Please donate today to help David. You can put David in the notes of a donation made online or by check.
Let’s get Dave back to doing what he loves: shopping for toys, attending comedy shows with his foster mom and living pain-free.
If you can’t give today, sharing David’s story helps more than you know. You might even be the one who helps his forever human find him.
