A Race Against Time to Save Saint's Life!
Just a few short weeks ago, staff at an overwhelmed shelter were scrambling to contact pet owners who had appointments to surrender their dogs, pleading to reschedule their appointments. The shelter was over capacity with zero kennels, and owner surrenders would be euthanized on intake. No one one wanted this, especially the staff and 99% of the pet owners.
But there was one dog owner, Saint's dad, who refused to reschedule his appointment. As an "open intake shelter", this shelter had to honor his request. Saint's dad brought him to the shelter, despite knowing Saint would die shortly after being guided through those doors by the one human he trusted most.
New Hope Animal Rescue happened to be on the phone with the shelter that day so learned of Saint and his imminent fate as he walked through the doors.
