Ritz & Gemma: Stories of Hope & Your Power to Heal

At New Hope Animal Rescue, we encounter countless animals in need of care, each with their own unique story. One such story is that of Gemma, a resilient and loving dog who captured our hearts with her spirit and determination.

Gemma's Challenging Start

When Gemma was rescued from a shelter outside of Austin, her dedicated foster Leni,  who has a sharp eye working at a vet clinic, immediately noticed her "wonky gait." X-rays revealed a healed tibia fracture from an injury prior to her joining our rescue and significant knee issues requiring two TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgeries for her to walk comfortably and without pain.

Rob and Leslie's Impact: The Power of Giving Healing
Two generous donors recruited by our amazing foster and volunteer Leni, Rob and Leslie, stepped forward to cover the cost of Gemma's two separate and costly surgeries and rehabilitation at Veterinary Surgical Solutions (VSS). Their life-changing contributions gave Gemma the chance at a pain-free life and enabled us to allocate our funding to other pets in need!
Watch this video of amazing generous donor gifts in action as Gemma does her rehabilitation on a treadmill at her surgical center VSS.  Each surgery including rehab was/will be $2,800 per knee so we are very grateful to Rob and Leslie for their generous healing gifts and to their foster Leni for being so involved in her hands on care and her fundraising!

Why Your Support Matters - Meet Ritz Carlton

Join us in making a difference today for other pets still needing healing. Meet Ritz Carlton, a cat with a worsening skin condition who urgently needs your help. Ritz has seen two different vets and even undergone hyperbaric oxygen therapy and everyone is stumped as to why his skin condition worsens. After investing over $1,500 into his care so far, a diagnostic option was presented to us for  $1,000.  Being kitten season, we have over 120 other cats and kittens in our care right as well as other urgent medical cases. We are asking our amazing supporters to help us consider helping us heal and transform Ritz, even if it’s $5 at a time - every dollar brings Ritz one step closer to being pain free.
We took this video of Ritz with his amazing Foster Anna  at his last vet appointment. In addition to  raising funds for his diagnostic skin test [$1,000], we will be starting FIP treatment as FIP effects all parts of a cats body and can create auto immune issues that could be be an underlying cause of whatever diagnosis we are able to confirm. Per several markers on his bloodwork diagnostics we are suspicious he could have FIP [dry form and hard to diagnose- visit our FIP resource library]

While Gemma's story highlights the profound impact donations have on animals in need, we are in need of so much help for Ritz Carlton and other pets in our care and who still need us. Your support transforms pain into comfort and gives these animals a second chance at a happy, healthy life.Together, we can create more success stories like Gemma's!

With a grateful heart,
