Our Miracle Puppies Thank You
As you prepare for New Year's celebrations, we want to celebrate all that our supporters have done this year to help us save lives. Especially the lives of our precious miracle puppies, Walnut and Clementine. But we need your help to end the year strong to be able to hit the ground running to save at risk pets in 2023.
Wally Walnut and Clementine are little miracles because they were exposed to distemper at the shelter they came from, which is more than 80% fatal in tiny puppies. Sadly, their sister Clementine succumbed to the disease after we hospitalized her at an emergency vet. So when we say Wally Walnut and Clementine are MIRACLES, we mean it!
Donors alongside our volunteer fosters like Erica are what make our life-saving work possible. "As a foster, I had never dealt with anything as terrifying and deadly as distemper. Losing Cranberry broke my heart in a big way, but I would do it all over again because without fosters, these little babies have no hope." - Erica, volunteer foster mom
Unvaccinated dogs spread deadly diseases like distemper that can wipe out entire shelter populations and is nearly always fatal in puppies under 8 weeks. The disease is 50% fatal for adult dogs. This disease is spread through wildlife like squirrels, raccoons and foxes and infected dogs yet is 100% preventable if people would vaccinate their pets.
