Your Compassion Saves Lives

Every pet deserves a long and healthy life, but countless are euthanized at over crowded shelters all over Texas. We wanted to introduce you to just a few of the animals we have saved recently so you can see how donors and volunteers just like you give homeless dogs and cats the future they deserve.
Pearla Was Left Behind to Die
Pearla's shelter photo above compared to her freedom photo in her New Hope foster home below, illustrates the impact our donors and volunteers make on pets on death row. Pearla entered a small, rural shelter with her puppies who she took great care of. Imagine what it was like for this m sweet momma dog when a rescue came for just her puppies and left her behind facing a euthanasia deadline. Thankfully two amazing foster moms stepped up to tag team her care so we were able to save her life. Pearla is currently being treated for demodex mange and an upper respiratory infection but will be spayed next week! Pearla is so loving and sweet and without people like you, she would not be alive today.
Pearla's foster plans to adopt her. Pearla loves people and other dogs and is quickly acclimating to her new home where she is spoiled!
Papaya Would Have Been Euthanized Friday Without You
Papaya had a 5pm euthanasia deadline on Friday at a local shelter simply for taking up kennel space for too long. Unfortunately for Papaya, her breed often has very little rescue or adoption interest. We made the quick decision to save her life after an amazing foster stepped up to open up her home. Our volunteer Erin [below] jumped in her car to make a 45 min drive to the shelter to transport Papaya to her foster, saving her life just in time. Papaya is smiling big in her freedom ride photo and she'll have no idea how close she came to taking her last breath. Sweet Papaya was spayed, microchipped and vaccinated today at our vet and she looks forward to meeting potential adopters!
Bonded Senior Cats Lose Their Owner But Find Hope
Mochi [left] and Akira [right] ended up in a small, rural shelter after their owner entered assisted living. They are 13 years old and very attached to each other. These two, senior couch potatoes had already been through so much stress losing their owner and spending too much time at a shelter in separate cages. Due to their age, it was going to be hard for them to be rescued together so we knew we had to help them so they could stay together. Mochi and Akira will live out their golden years together thanks to you!
You can now meet Mochi [left] and Akira [right] at our PetSmart adoption center in Mueller on Barbara Jordan Blvd where our volunteers love on them daily. If you are looking for a couple of lazy, couch potatoes who enjoy snuggles, please apply to adopt them!
