"From the first day we brought her home...she just fit with us like our missing puzzle piece." - Grace, Minnie's adopter
Countless animals find their way to our rescue due to their breed mix or the specialized medical attention they require. Sweet Minnie faced both of these challenges, making her journey to a better life even more arduous. She was in a shelter struck by a confirmed distemper outbreak, and her exposure to the illness and her symptoms put her at risk of euthanasia.
Under our care and the guidance of our veterinarian, Minnie received the dedicated treatment she needed. Battling pneumonia, she underwent nebulization, medications, and syringe feeding until her appetite returned. As she regained her strength and her airways and nose boogies cleared, her spirit shone through, and Minnie transformed into a joyful, lively puppy.
Rising against the odds, Minnie's story took a beautiful turn. Love blossomed at first sight when her future adopters saw her online. They embarked on a journey from San Antonio to Austin, making sure Minnie's home would be with them.
"She was truly the pup for us and we love her so much, and she’s definitely getting that only child treatment. Thank you guys again for all that you do and for giving us our lil Minnie" - Grace, Minnie's mom

A sweet orange tabby cat, Quint, had faced a heart-wrenching ordeal – his tail was eaten off by a predator, leaving a large, gaping wound. A good samaritan dropped him at rural shelter that has no vet staff. But thanks to an amazing vet and a New Hope foster home, we were able to rescue him and his wound was surgically repaired and healed beautifully.
During his time at the Tomlinson's Feed adoption cattery, he also earned a reputation for his love bites – a quirky trait that won the hearts of his new family. While some may have been deterred, his new family saw beyond and embraced his unique affectionate style. The moment they locked eyes with Quint, they knew he was meant to be theirs.
"When I walked into the cattery my partner said I gave him 'the look' and I was like yeah, we're adopting LOL!. So happy and thankful to have this precious boy! "- Indra, Quint's adopter

The bond was undeniable, as Quint eagerly hopped into the carrier on adoption day, ready to embark on his new adventure. Quint is settling in beautifully, showing us that with a little love, cats and dogs are resilient!
