Kitten left for dead beats the odds

*|MC:SUBJECT|*

Dobby had a broken jaw, torn and burned skin and maggots crawling in her wounds when she was found. The shelter gave her a one hour deadline to be rescued or humanely euthanized. Still in our pajamas that morning, we raced to the shelter to save her. This video is tough to watch due to the severity of Dobby's injuries but we promise there is a happy ending thanks to our fosters and donors! We also could not have saved this sweet kitten without the amazing medical team at Tech Ridge Pet Hospital in Austin!

25% of Dogs on Death Row in Shelters Are Purebreds. Our "New Hope Newfies" Are a Reminder That You Can Adopt Almost Any Breed With a Little Patience.

Gully and Gracie were forced to live outside, eating food off the ground when their owner fell on difficult times. We are grateful he reached out to us for help. Gully is a "tripod", missing one front leg due to being hit by a car, but he doesn't let this slow him down! Gracie was bred several times and she says "no more puppies" and just wants to be the center of your world. Sweet Lizzie was found wandering the streets in a rural town and no one claimed her at the local kill shelter. She is loving life in her foster home and would love to meet you! And many of you already know sweet Emerson's sad story. Emerson will be having surgery on August 26th to remove a large mass engulfing his lower teeth. Our surgical estimate to remove this large mass is $3,000. Donations of any size help us replenish funds to save the next senior dog in need.

A staggering 2.4 million puppies produced by licensed and unlicensed puppy mills are sold each year, while 2.7 million companion animals are euthanized in shelters annually, most of which are healthy and adoptable. 25% of dogs sitting in shelters are purebreds from breeders. Sadly, many people will buy Newfoundland puppies, not prepared for the grooming, expense or other challenges that come with owning a larger dog. We can all stand up for dogs, including purebreds, who are on death row in over crowded shelters by adopting and not buying and by always spaying and neutering our pets. To learn more about our "New Hope Newfies" or to view our other amazing dogs in need of homes, please visit our website.
Our donors, fosters, volunteers and adopters make it possible for us to continue to rescue and rehabilitate displaced, abandoned and neglected pets.

Thank you for your support. Together we save lives.
