Meet Isabel, a breathtakingly fluffy girl with a heart overflowing with love and an irresistibly gentle and submissive nature. Although she may come across as somewhat timid, her sweet and shy demeanor morphs into an eagerness to love and be loved, which melted the hearts of our visiting volunteers so we freed her from the puppy clinger on Christmas Eve! While Isabel has shown good compatibility with dogs at the shelter, it's worth mentioning that her affectionate nature can occasionally lead to possessiveness when it comes to her human around other dogs. Therefore, establishing clear boundaries regarding affection and implementing gradual introductions to other canines in her new home will be essential for this loving yet emotionally sensitive girl. Isabel is a well-mannered and intelligent companion. She's house trained and crate trained, which speaks to her reliability and good behavior. She's also good with cats, although she's working on keeping all four paws on the floor as those hugs, while endearing, can encourage her insecurity. She knows basic commands like sit and come, and her energy levels are medium to high. She thrives in a structured environment with a patient human who can help boost her confidence. First-time dog owners may find her needs a bit challenging, but for the right person, Isabel will be a devoted and loving companion. She may do well with another dog, provided the dog is patient and non-reactive, and the introductions are gradual. Isabel adores cats and is likely to enjoy having a feline friend. Her intelligence and quick learning make her an excellent student for someone willing to invest time and patience. |
