After being hit by a car, she arrived with devastating injuries: a broken lower jaw, fractures to her upper jaw, a severely damaged hard palate, and an eye that had to be removed. She underwent emergency surgery and depended on tube feedings around the clock for nearly six weeks. Against every odd, Shilo kept fighting. Today, this sweet girl is thriving in her own perfectly imperfect way. Shilo is blind, but she has learned to navigate her surroundings with remarkable confidence—sometimes better than her foster mom’s fully sighted orange “agents of chaos”! She loves sunbathing by the window, lounging in a cozy bed, playing, snuggling with her person, and sleeping in bed surrounded by the dogs who have been her devoted emotional-support team since the day she arrived. Because of the way her jaw healed, Shilo eats wet food blended with water for breakfast and dinner. She can be a delightfully messy eater, so her foster serves her meals in an easy-to-clean area. Her absolute favorite treat is a Churu! She will also need lifelong antibiotics, which she is accustomed to taking with her dinner. Shilo does best with a predictable routine. She uses a litter box in her small playpen area and typically needs to go around the same times each day, so her foster helps guide her there when it is time. This extraordinary girl is looking for a very special adopter—someone patient, compassionate, and committed to continuing the routine that has allowed her to blossom. Her needs may be a little different, but the love she gives is enormous. Shilo’s foster used to sing to her during those long weeks of tube feeding: “You are my Shilo, my only Shilo…” Shi Shi still loves her song. Her tortitude kept her alive, but her gentle heart is what makes everyone fall in love with her. Shilo deserves to be someone’s whole world. Shilo the Miracle Cat is Ready for Adoption!

Meeps entered our rescue just a few weeks ago completely paralyzed in her back legs. Surgery would give her a 10% chance of recovery so we didn't pursue it; but LOOK AT HER NOW. She is stronger by the day. Meeps is writing her own story! We can't wait to see where more time, patience and her determination takes her next!

Shilo had been hit by a car just a few weeks ago with the trauma primarily damaging her jaw/nose/eyes/face. We were the only rescue that could respond to this shelter's plea on time and we thankfully had an amazing vet partner who said YES to helping us save her.
