Meet Barkley – The Ultimate Snugglebug!

At 13+ years old and just 5 pounds, Barkley may be tiny, but his heart is absolutely massive! This super senior Chihuahua was rescued from a high-risk shelter, and despite his age and blindness, he’s proving that life is still full of love, snuggles, and well-earned naps.

Barkley may not see or hear much, but his super sniffer guides him like a little pro, helping him navigate his foster home from bed to water bowl to food bowl to outhouse and back to bed. His favorite hobbies? Napping, cuddling, and just existing as the adorable grandpa he is. I mean, picture a 5-pound king with a side tongue, vibing through life, sniffing his way around, and providing premium cuddle service—his retirement plan is literally just naps and being adored. Honestly, goals.

This sweet old man is potty trained, gets along wonderfully with other calm dogs and cats, and will absolutely melt your heart with his tiny presence and endless affection. He’s looking for a chill, low-key home where he can spend his golden days feeling safe, cherished, and comfy in someone’s arms.

That said, Barkley is fragile, so he’s looking for a home with adults only or a family with respectful teenagers who understand how to handle a tiny senior pup. He can live with gentle, calm furry friends who won’t accidentally knock him over, but he’d also be totally happy as the one and only king of the castle, soaking up all the love.

For his safety, Barkley cannot go to a home with unsupervised dog doors or one with an unfenced swimming pool. This little adventurer might wander into trouble that he’s definitely not equipped for!
