Description:
This precious pup was found abandoned in a home with no food or water, skin and bones, and absolutely terrified and only 6 pounds! Despite everything he's been through, Bastian has so much love to give and has now doubled his weight in foster care! It just takes him a few hours to warm up to someone new, and then he'll become your little shadow.
We believe Bastian is a Dachshund/Min Pin mix, and he weighs around 7 pounds. After what he's endured, it's understandable that he needs time to trust, so he's looking for a special human who understands his past and will patiently help him feel safe and confident again. A calm home would be best for him—nothing too chaotic or barky, just a place where he can relax and feel secure.
Bastian absolutely loves to play and isn’t shy around other dogs once he’s had time to decompress. In fact, he can be quite bold for his size—he’ll even chase a 70-pound dog out of the room if he feels like it! Because he's a little dude, I make sure he eats in his crate, especially if other pets are around, mostly for his safety, though he doesn't seem to realize he's small.
He adores cuddle time, and while I haven’t tried him on a leash yet, his recall is great when called by 'Cowboy' or 'Little Dude.' Recently, he's even started showing off some personality by chasing and jumping after flies!
Bastian may not be a dog that will immediately run up to strangers with a wagging tail, but he’s looking for a loving human who will help him continue to grow in confidence. Could you be the one to give this sweet boy the forever home he deserves?
