Gracie and Maudie were rescued from a heartbreaking cruelty case—just 7 months old and already suffering the effects of severe confinement. Four puppies were crammed into a tiny wire crate, unable to move freely. As a result, Grace & Maudie's back legs are weak and wobbly from muscle atrophy, but don’t let that fool you—these girls can walk, play, and even jump on the couch!

Maudie, the smallest, and was being crushed under the other puppies when animal control arrived. Her fur is missing on her head from pressing against the kennel. She has never stopped wagging her tail. They were at risk of being euthanized at a shelter that couldn’t place them for adoption.

Until New Hope Animal Rescue said yes to rescuing them.

This video follows their journey—from neglect and fear to baths, freedom, and finally, love. You’ll see Maudie walk straight into her foster mom’s arms, Gracie soaking up attention, and both sisters discovering the joy of toys and soft places to rest.

💛 These girls are healing every day—and with your help, we can continue giving dogs like them the second chance they deserve.

Sweet David loves browsing the aisles of Costco and toy stores with his foster mom—and even tags along to her comedy shows!

But Dave now has a torn ACL that’s causing him pain and limiting his mobility. He desperately needs surgery to get back on his feet.

We spared David from euthanasia at a shelter outside of Austin. Now we need your help to give him the pain-free life he deserve so he can be adopted.

A puppy was found alone on the grounds of a church in an area sadly known for frequent pet dumping. While we can’t say for certain how she ended up there—whether she became lost or was abandoned—there were no signs of an owner nearby, and she was in clearly poor condition: underweight, missing fur, and covered in fleas.

Thanks to one of our volunteers who couldn’t walk away, New Hope Animal Rescue stepped in to provide urgent veterinary care—vaccinations, deworming, flea prevention, and high-quality nutrition—and will continue caring for her while we determine if she has an owner looking for her.

For now, what we know is this: she’s safe, healing, and receiving the care and shelter she deserves.
Puppy Abandoned at a Church Rescued
**Meet Momo: Your Resilient and Playful Sidekick!**
*Female | Shar Pei/Pit Mix | 9 Months | 49 lbs*

Momo’s story is one of strength and resilience. Watching her play here with little Scooter, it's hard to imagine it was just a couple months ago that we found her at the shelter where she was missing most of her fur, severely underweight and suffering from entropion in both eyes. She was also going to be euthanized that day if we didn't take her. Despite it all, Momo greeted us with a gentle spirit you see here, so we knew we couldn’t leave her behind.

One of Momo’s most endearing qualities is how quickly she forms bonds, like she has with her new foster fur sibling Scooter in this video. She’s the kind of dog who makes friends wherever she goes—whether it’s the vet staff after just a day or her friends at South Paws Daycare where she practiced loose leash walking, Momo falls in love quickly with dogs and people, and she has a way of weaving herself into people’s hearts. Her affectionate, people-oriented nature means that she embraces new experiences and places with an open heart, always eager to connect and be part of the moment.

Momo is an affectionate and loyal companion who bonds deeply with her person. She loves being close, always wanting to be part of whatever you’re doing. While she craves connection, she also benefits from a balance of love and structure. In her foster home, consistent routines and gentle guidance have helped her feel secure and more independent, allowing her to confidently explore new environments.

She’s incredibly smart and eager to please, making her a quick learner. Momo already knows how to “sit” (often before you even ask!) and will happily go into her crate with just a point. She’s house-trained and steadily improving her manners, including her tendency to jump when she’s excited.

Playful and social, Momo enjoys interacting with other dogs of all sizes. Her play style is flexible—sometimes she’s the leader, other times she’s more submissive. Regardless, she would thrive with a dog buddy who shares her love of play. Momo’s lively energy is balanced by her desire to connect, and she’s learning to manage her enthusiasm while also growing more confident and independent.

Her ideal home would be a single-family house with a yard where she can play and explore. An active person or family who can provide love, structure, and consistent training would be perfect for her. Since Momo can be a bit too enthusiastic when giving kisses or greeting people, we recommend a home without young children (teenagers or adults only).

Momo has a heart full of love and potential—she just needs a family who will help her continue to mature into the dog she’s meant to be. If you’re looking for a resilient, playful companion who will brighten your days, Momo is ready to meet you!
Momo shows how sweet she is
Sweet Kokomo is coming up on a year in rescue through no fault of her own. We suspect adopters might overlook her since she's a middle aged girl and also missing some fur that will never grow back but she looks so beautiful to us! She was missing 100% of her fur when she cam to us last November due to sever neglect from her owners. Unfortunately she has "elephant skin" on her under side where fur will never grow, but she is still gorgeous inside and out!

💛 Short legs. Big smile. Bigger heart. 💛 Me 💛 Short legs. Big smile. Bigger heart. 💛

Meet Sploot – our 4-year-old brindle “low rider". Whatever breed combo he is, it’s 100% adorable. 🐾

He got his name from his favorite lounging style — belly flat on the floor, back legs stretched out behind him in a full sploot. At 46 pounds, he’s the ideal size for couch cuddles or laid-back strolls.

Sploot is crate trained, house trained, calm, and quiet. He’s the ultimate couch companion — happy to hang out nearby at your feet or calmly next to you. When he’s ready for some affection, he’ll give you a gentle nose nudge to let you know it’s time for head scratches. 💕

With other dogs, Sploot likes to watch the fun before deciding if he’s ready to participate. He’s still settling in with his foster pack, but he's getting along great with everyone.

His story almost ended too soon — he came to the shelter microchipped, but his owners never reclaimed him. Facing euthanasia, we knew we had to step in. Now, this big-hearted boy is safe and ready for a fresh start.

📩 Sploot is available to foster or adopt — and that smile is ready to meet you! Apply today to help him find his family as his foster or to even make him part of your family!

Meet Krypto, Queenie, and Maddie — three of eight Chihuahua mixes abandoned by their owner and left at a high euthanasia shelter outside of Austin.

Despite their sweet faces and gentle personalities, they were placed on the euthanasia list for space due to space limitatons.

Thanks to quick action by our incredible foster families — they’re now safe with us and starting their fresh start. Their fosters say they’re incredibly sweet, appear to be house trained, and are about 4 years old. They can be a little shy at first, but warm up quickly with kindness.

On Friday, we had them spayed/neutered and they’re ready to meet you:
✨ Queenie – the tiniest at 10 lbs
✨ Krypto – 11 lbs of charm
✨ Maddie – 12 lbs of love

They’re not on our website yet, but this is your sneak peek to get your application in early. 🐾 Your next best friend could be right here. 💛

Two unrelated kittens. One shelter. Two injured fr Two unrelated kittens. One shelter. Two injured front legs.

Rescued just a day apart, Hopdoddy and Sploot found safety in the same foster home — and in each other.

💔 Hopdoddy is healing from a broken leg.
💔 Sploot will need an amputation due to nerve damage.

Despite it all, they've formed a beautiful bond during recovery.

We need to raise $1,000 to cover Sploot’s upcoming surgery and their combined vet bills.
For a grassroots rescue like ours, that’s a significant amount — especially during kitten season, when vet bills far exceed our donations and animals keep pouring in.

👉 Will you give today to help them heal — and help us keep saying yes to the ones still waiting?

Remember sweet Maudie, rescued from a cruelty case Remember sweet Maudie, rescued from a cruelty case with wobbly legs and thermal scars? She wants you to know she’s doing great — and making the most of every day with joy and determination. The fur on her head is even growing back!

Born with a congenital condition that affects her back legs, Maudie may wobble, but she doesn’t let that slow her down. She’s what her foster mom calls a “typewriter walker” — zipping ahead, then trailing behind, then zipping ahead again. It might take a little more effort, but she’s committed to her daily walks around the block!

She loves walks so much that she’ll even carry her own leash to take herself on one! And in this video you will Maudie her trying to walk the resident dog, New Hope alum Nui. (Nui was a good sport about it.)

All that effort means Maudie enjoys lots of naps in between her walks and playtime. She’s a mellow pup who’s great in her crate, doing well with house training, and quietly working on commands like “sit” and “come.” At 7-8 months old, she's is still in her puppy phase of wanting to chew everything (slippers beware), but she’s gentle, sweet, and silly once she knows she’s safe.

And we’re happy to report the fur on her head is starting to grow back!

Maudie is ready for a forever home that appreciates her unique spirit and easygoing energy — someone who enjoys the little things: slow walks, soft snuggles, and the quiet love of a dog who’s overcome so much.

Office Dog Goals: Achieved. Pie Pie is belly up t Office Dog Goals: Achieved.
Pie Pie is belly up this morning, content on her oversized dog bed in her foster mom’s office.

Pie Pie has never met a stranger. Whether it’s a visitor or the vet tech trimming her nails—she greets everyone like an old friend. She adores people with her whole goofy heart and makes fast fans wherever she goes.

She’s the perfect blend of affectionate and independent. Happy to lounge by your side while you work, and equally fine snoozing solo while you run errands.

We’re seeking a home for Pie Pie where she can be loved as an only pet. So, if you’re looking for a loving, people-focused best friend—Pie Pie is waiting to meet you! 💕
