Description:

Cowboy might currently tips the scales at 73 pounds but itโ€™s 73 pounds of of pure love. Heโ€™s currently on a weight-loss journey to become his healthiest self. When Cowboy entered rescue, this sweet boy was struggling to breathe, so we got him the care he needed: nares and soft-palate surgery. The difference was almost instant โ€” Cowboy could finally breathe comfortably and enjoy life again which will help him be a little more active to lose weight! He may stillย saw a few logsย in his sleep, but trust us, itโ€™s nothing but adorable.

Cowboy is a total snuggle bug who just wants to be where you are. Heโ€™s happy to follow you around but not the type to smother you โ€” if youโ€™re in the same room, heโ€™s content entertaining himself but when you get up to leave, he wants to follow. His first friend in our foster care program was a 15-pound pug and he was so gentle with her. So donโ€™t let his size fool you โ€” heโ€™s a gentle giant at heart.

This sweet guy is crate trained, house trained, food-motivated, and super easy to medicate. His foster has even left him uncrated overnight in the office, and heโ€™s proven to be very well-mannered and non-destructive.

Cowboyโ€™s adorable underbite is guaranteed to make you smile, and his coat is so soft it practicallyย begsย to be petted.ย ๐Ÿ’›ย Heโ€™s the perfect mix of affectionate and independent โ€” and truly, one of those dogs that makes every day brighter.

Important Note:ย Cowboy cannot be adopted into a home with a swimming pool due to drowning risks. Thank you for wanting the best for Cowboy!
