Why Become a Foster Parent?
Become a Foster Parent with New Hope Animal Rescue NFP!
Foster homes are the heart and soul of our mission to save dogs and cats from euthanasia. As a foster-based rescue with no physical facility, we rely on dedicated volunteers to provide loving, indoor home spaces and daily care for animals in need. We cover all medical care, and fosters are critical partners in helping each pet prepare for adoption.
Fostering is incredibly rewarding, but itโs also a meaningful commitment. Many animals we rescue have experienced trauma or instability and rely on the consistency their foster homes provide to heal and thrive. Foster commitments typically range from a few weeks to a few months, and we ask volunteers to see the process through until the pet is adopted to ensure smooth transitions for the pets in our care. Rest assured, weโll support you every step of the way.
Whether youโre fostering a playful puppy, a senior dog in need of TLC, or a cat ready for a new start, your role will be life-changing. If youโve ever wanted to make a real difference, this is your chance to be a hero for a homeless pet.
Common Questions:
How long will I foster? This can vary greatly depending on the pet's needs. A foster commitment can range between a few weeks to a few months, but possibly longer for certain pets.
What if I get attached? Weโll guide you through the transition when itโs time to say goodbye. But if you feel a special connection, like youโre meant to be their forever human, weโre happy to talk with you about making them a permanent part of your family!
What do I need to provide? We cover medical care and do our best to provide food and supplies when they are donated to us. However, because donations fluctuate, we encourage fosters to be prepared to provide essentials like food or cat litter.
Fostering is a commitment, but the joy of seeing your foster pet thrive and find a forever home makes it all worthwhile. Join us and help save livesโone animal at a time.
