Description:

Meet Hank โ€” Your Ride-or-Die Adventure Buddy

Hankโ€™s story starts with abandonment, but youโ€™d never know it from the way he shows up in the world. This guy is all heart and absolutely loves his people. Heโ€™s the kind of dog who believes every human is a friend he just hasnโ€™t met yet โ€” and honestly, heโ€™s probably right.

Hank is house trained and crate trained, and he happily eats and sleeps in his crate. The only time he hesitates is when he realizes youโ€™re about to leave โ€” not because heโ€™s anxious, but because heโ€™d much rather come with you. A small handful of kibble solves that problem quickly. Heโ€™s very food-motivated and very attached to his humans.

He can be left loose in the house and generally does great, though fair warning: Hank loves adventure. Heโ€™s always ready for a walk, a car ride, or whatever youโ€™re doing next, and he really wants to be included. Car rides are one of his favorite things.

Hank is friendly with other dogs and enjoys their company. Occasionally, his enthusiasm can outpace other dogs, and he may need a short break to calm down โ€” but heโ€™s social and well-intentioned. He does well with cats and mostly ignores them (his foster even jokes that the first cat he met โ€œlocked him in the kitchenโ€). Heโ€™s also been fine with other animals.

Hank has not lived with young children and but we think he'd do best with kids at least over 6 due to his energy level.

On leash, Hank walks ahead without pulling and does best when he can move at his own pace. He knows several commands โ€” including sit, lay down, stay, โ€œback,โ€ and staying out of the kitchen โ€” and heโ€™s motivated by treats, toys, and affection.

Hankโ€™s energy level is high, and heโ€™s looking for a home that can match it. Heโ€™s not an apartment dog and will do best in a house with a yard, ideally with other dogs to help burn off his zoomies and keep life interesting.

If youโ€™re looking for a loyal, fun-loving dog who wants to be part of everything, Hank is ready to pack his bags and ride shotgun into his forever home.
