Leela is a gorgeous 2-year-old, 13-pound Schnauzer mix who has already made an incredible transformation. When she first arrived, she was shy and trembling, but she quickly warmed up to her foster mom, showing just how sweet and affectionate she truly is. With her striking steel-grey coat and unique look, Leela is sure to turn heads wherever she goes.
Leela is a social pup who loves the company of other dogs and ignores cats. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and walks beautifully on a leash. While she’s been quiet so far, she may find her voice as she continues to settle in. She tolerates regular brushing—important for maintaining her luxurious coat—and will need occasional grooming.
Because she’s still building her confidence, we recommend a home with adults or adults with older children (10+) who can help her feel safe and secure. Leela is currently undergoing treatment for heartworms and is on medical hold, but if you’re interested in fostering to adopt while she completes her treatment, we’d love to hear from you.
