“Loyal" and “loving" describe sweet Prince!

Prince is available to foster or "foster to adopt” if you live in Austin or greater Austin! We rescued him in an emergency situation to avoid freezing to death outside.  Prince is currently in boarding due to the urgency of his situation, but he would  much rather be in a loving home with you. Once he’s settled at your place, his lovable self will show endless affection and loyalty to you and your family.  While he had been forced to live as an outside dog and was no longer wanted by his family, he is a forgiving and trusting pup who enjoys the finer things like warm couches, beds and chew toys!

Prince sleeps well through the night and is a playful, smart boy and is house trained. He’s very sweet and affectionate and loves couch snuggles, but a home with a yard to play fetch would be a dream come true for this active boy!

While we are still getting to know him, he had positive interactions with a large female St. Bernard, and a small male dog.  He needs slow and guided introductions to male dogs larger than him.  Prince did meet a cat and was very curious. The interaction was not long enough for us to get a good read, so a cat free home is best at this time.

This boy is still young and needs a foster or adopter who is willing to work on some basic training and he is eager to learn! However he is house trained and does sleep well through the night and rides all in the car! He hasn’t shown any signs of food aggression and did allow his temporary foster to remove a bone from his mouth.  Prince enjoys children but needs experienced kids who are comfortable with the hugs he gives. He could easily knock down a toddler by accident, so kiddos 12 and up are recommended.

Can’t foster Prince but want to help? You can donate towards his boarding and medical care.
