NEW HOPE ANIMAL RECEIVES $25,000 GRANT FROM PETSMART CHARITIES TO HELP MORE ADOPTABLE PETS FIND FAMILIES IN TEXAS

PetSmart Charities National Adoption Week In-Person Events to Take Place at Local PetSmart Stores March 18-24

AUSTIN,TX – March 20, 2024 – NEW HOPE ANIMAL RESCUE [NHAR] has received a $25,000 grant from PetSmart Charities® to help prepare more homeless pets in TEXAS for adoption. Some four million pets find themselves in U.S. shelters each year. In partnership with PetSmart Charities, NEW HOPE ANIMAL RESCUE will bring adoptable pets to four PetSmart locations in support of National Adoption Week, taking place March 18 - 24, 2024.

“These funds are vital to bolstering our life-saving mission and amplifying pet adoptions as they support the enormous costs associated with preparing a pet for adoption, which includes spaying and neutering every single pet prior to adoption, wellness exams, vaccinations, diagnostic tests, medications, microchips, preventions and more.” said Kelley Rice, founder and President of NHAR

We're committed to rescuing cats and dogs from open-intake shelters, such as Pawdrey Hepburn, who was among over 100 cats seized by an animal control authority north of Austin from dire living conditions. Pawdrey and 30 other cats entered our rescue with varying health issues and states of neglect, but at the same time were the most loving, forgiving and confident and beautiful cats! We are so grateful for PetSmart Charities' essential grant support that empowers these types of rescue efforts, transforming these deserving pets and their health so they can be adopted into your loving arms!

Pawdrey is just one example of a life transformed by donations at the PetSmart register that assist organizations like ours in preparing pets for adoption! Whether you donate or adopt, or volunteer at a PetSmart 7 day adoption center, you are part of an essential community dedicated to saving these precious animals and placing them into loving homes!

" - Kelley Rice, Founder and President of New Hope Animal Rescue

“Shelters across the U.S. are struggling to keep pace with the number of animals coming in and need support from their communities to bring pets and people together,” said Heidi Marston, director of pet placement at PetSmart Charities.  “We’re proud to support New Hope Animal Rescue and the essential work they do to care for and advocate for the animals that come through their door in need of loving families. Please consider supporting their lifesaving work through volunteering, fostering, adopting, or by making a donation.”

Monty is one example of the many dogs who will be attending New Hope Animal Rescue’s event at the Mueller PetSmart this  Saturday from 12 to 3 p.m. See how behaved and skilled he was at a recent PetSmart adoption event by clicking on this video!

“Many rescue dogs, especially mixed breeds, make for fantastic dogs! I would know as I have 5 rescue dogs myself! But every now and then there comes a rescue dog who is just so much more special and so amazing that you wonder, how did they ever end up in rescue? Montana is one of those rare gems. I actually lack the adjectives to properly describe how amazing this dog is.” said Joanna Elliott, Director of NHAR Operations, Technology, and Canine Behavior, as well as Monty’s foster mom.
