Description:
Bumper is a 14-pound Mini Australian Shepherd / Pomeranian mix (best guess) with a big personality, a brilliant little brain, and a strong desire to be part of everything you do.
True to his name, Bumper is unique, fun and full of personaility. He’s your built-in supervisor — incredibly people-oriented and determined to be part of everything you do (sometimes even jumping into your shower!)
Bumper is active, playful, and very smart — and he leans more Aussie than Pom in both energy and personality. He thrives on interaction, engagement, and being part of the action. He walks beautifully on a leash, is very treat-motivated, and already knows how to sit, making him a great candidate for continued training.
He has a very puppy-like, mouthy play style and is still learning what’s appropriate to chew on and how to regulate his excitement. He doesn’t have much interest in toys yet — he’d much rather engage with his people — but with guidance and redirection, he’s going to catch on quickly.
Bumper enjoys other dogs and would do best with a playful, confident canine companion who can match his energy. He’s still learning how to read social cues and can be a bit pushy or overwhelming, especially with smaller or more reserved dogs, so a tolerant playmate is ideal.
He is doing great in his foster home and is about 90% potty trained, continuing to improve with routine and consistency. He’s also been doing well settling in a crate environment, especially overnight.
And of course — he’s absolutely adorable. Bumper has a soft, fluffy coat in a stunning blend of warm taupe, cream, and tan with subtle merle marbling, plus light eyes and a rosy nose that make his expressions irresistible.
Bumper is not a “sit back and relax” type of dog — he’s a fun, interactive, high-engagement companion who will thrive with someone who enjoys training, play, and having a dog that’s truly involved in their day-to-day life. While he has lots of love and affection to offer, he’s not a “lap dog”.
If you’re looking for a smart, active, slightly chaotic (in the best way) little sidekick who will keep you on your toes and make you laugh every day — Bumper is your guy.
