Domino

Domino’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. When her previous owner moved out of a trailer home, Domino was heartbreakingly left behind. But this sweet and resilient Heeler mix hasn’t let her past define her. At around 40 pounds, Domino is a laid-back, low-energy companion who is rediscovering the joys of love and care in her foster home.

Despite everything she’s been through, Domino is incredibly sweet and affectionate. She adores lounging on the couch or curling up in her crate, which she considers her safe haven. When she wants your attention, she’ll gently nudge your hand or give a soft lick to remind you she’s there, waiting for pets and cuddles.

Domino is house-trained and uses a dog door to access the backyard, though she’s still learning to feel comfortable on a leash. She’s a bit nervous when putting on her harness but is making progress with patience and encouragement. Long walks aren’t her thing—she’d much rather be home, lounging or enjoying some fresh air in the yard.

In her foster home, Domino has shown she’s great with other dogs, particularly mid-to-large-sized ones. She even shares a special bond with another foster dog she used to live with, and they play together like old friends. While she hasn’t lived with cats in a long-term setting, her foster notes that Domino might do best in a home without cats due to her interest in them when other dogs are around.

Domino’s perfect home would be one where she can continue to enjoy the comfort of indoor life she’s so grateful for. A calm environment with another mid-to-large-sized dog as a companion would suit her well, though she’d also thrive as the sole focus of her human’s affection.
