Bumper adopted! 🐾 During his time in foster care, Bumper adopted! 🐾

During his time in foster care, it didn’t take long to realize Bumper leaned much more Mini Aussie than Pomeranian—and he needed a family who truly understood what that meant.

And he found exactly that.

Bumper has gone home to join not just one, but two dog siblings—including an Aussie who speaks his language and a pit mix to round out the crew. A home ready for his energy, his intelligence, and all the personality that comes with it.

The perfect match. The perfect timing. The perfect next chapter.

Congratulations, Bumper—we’re so happy you landed exactly where you belong. #AdoptDontShop #RescueDog #AustinDogs #RescueIsMyFavoriteBreed #DogAdoption 🐾
Margot Jelly Bean says Thursday is giving her Mond Margot Jelly Bean says Thursday is giving her Monday vibes! But she’s the best little work from home buddy you could ask for! She just needs a human who appreciates her fun spirit and bulldog quirks.
Sometimes the best thing you can do for a kitten… Sometimes the best thing you can do for a kitten… is adopt them with a sibling!

Boots and Scallop were adopted together at @petsmart in Bee Cave — and it’s exactly what we hope for with kittens like them.

Kittens adopted in pairs or to a home with another young playful cat:
✨ Burn energy playing with each other (not your hands)
✨ Build more confidence and social skills
✨ Are likely to develop “single kitten syndrome” — things like biting, boredom, and anxiety

And most importantly… they always have each other.

Two kittens isn’t double the work — it’s a better, happier life for them.

We love a double adoption days! @petsmartcharities

All Hank ever wanted was to be part of a family. All Hank ever wanted was to be part of a family.

When one of our volunteers found him in an apartment complex parking lot — after his owners had moved out weeks before — he tried to jump right into her car. He just wanted someone to love him. After waiting and hoping for weeks that someone would come back for him.

From the very beginning in our care — through heartworm treatment and neuter — it was clear who Hank is at his core: a wherever-you-go, I’m-going-too kind of dog. The kind who doesn’t just want a home… he wants to be part of your everyday life and he was a little adventure and fun.

And when he met his new family for the first time, he made it very clear —
he wasn’t leaving their side. ❤️

And he didn’t have to.

Hank found the perfect family — one who wasn’t just looking for a pet, but a true family member to share life with.
Now his days look exactly like what he always deserved:
✨ Weekend adventures — swimming, hiking, exploring
✨ Car rides with mom to pick up the kids from school; and daily long walks and fun games
✨ Cheering on at sporting events
✨ Pup cups and everyday moments, right by his family’s side

Because that’s all Hank ever wanted —to be part of it all.
To belong.
To love, and be loved right back.

Congratulations, Hank. You were always meant for this life!
Nudel doesn’t understand why her new foster siblin Nudel doesn’t understand why her new foster siblings are so hairy.

She’s what’s known as an Elf cat — a Sphynx mix with those signature curled ears. Nudel was originally placed by a breeder with a family who ultimately realized they weren’t able to meet her needs.

Hairless cats aren’t low-maintenance or “easy” pets — they require regular skin care (yes… baths), help staying warm, routine ear cleaning, and a home that understands they’re very people-oriented and don’t love being left alone for long.

They’re a commitment — not a novelty.

But they’re also incredibly affectionate, social, and full of personality for the people who do get them.

We’ve got you, little Nudel.
Welcome to rescue. 🐾

✨ Meet Momo — and yes, she’s as perfect as she loo ✨ Meet Momo — and yes, she’s as perfect as she looks.
This cutie Lab/Pit mix just over a year old came to us severely underweight, missing fur, and facing an overwhelmed shelter. She had every reason to give up — but instead, she greeted our team with a gentle, hopeful spirit. That’s just who Momo is.

After eye surgery, a lot of love, and some seriously good foster care, she has fully blossomed. Her coat is growing back beautifully, her eyes light up with joy, and her personality? Absolutely magnetic. She makes friends everywhere she goes — at the vet, at training, with dogs big and small, with cats, and with every human lucky enough to meet her.

Momo is the dog Austin families have been waiting for:
🐕 Good with dogs of all sizes
🐱 Good with cats
🧍Good with people (best with teens & adults)
☀️ Built for patio hangs
🏃 Down for playtime & adventure
🎓 Already knows “sit” — sometimes before you even ask

She thrives with love, routine, and a yard to run in. If you’re an active person or family looking for a loyal, playful companion who will make every single day better — she’s your girl.

💛 Interested in adopting Momo? Email contact@NewHopeSavesLives.org to take the next step. She cannot wait to meet you.

Nala has discovered her foster mom’s office chair Nala has discovered her foster mom’s office chair—designed for your dog to sit next to you while you work. And she's been watching and waiting for adoption applications ever since.

We really thought Nala would be adopted by now.

At 38 pounds, she’s that perfect “medium dog” size everyone says they want.
She’s about 2–3 years old and has that ideal balance—playful when you want it, calm and snuggly when you need it.

She is fostered with dogs and cats, crate trained and house trained. She used to chase cats, but has since befriended one who constantly licks her face and head butts her—and Nala now lovingly accepts the affection.

The kind of dog who just wants to be near you or her dog friends - Easy to love. Easy to live with.

And still… she’s waiting.

✨ Adopted: Tabitha Twinkle — FIP Survivor ✨ Tabit ✨ Adopted: Tabitha Twinkle — FIP Survivor ✨

Tabitha Twinkle was just adopted from PetSmart in Mueller, and we couldn’t be more excited for her next chapter 💕

Her story didn’t start easy.

One morning, her foster mom noticed something wasn’t right—one of Tabitha's eye's was suddenly much larger/swollen… then both. With quick action between our veterinary team and a specialist, Tabitha was diagnosed with ocular FIP.

𝙁𝙄𝙋 𝙨𝙮𝙢𝙥𝙩𝙤𝙢𝙨 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙫𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙡𝙮. Forms like ocular (eye), neurologic, and “dry” FIP can be subtle and more difficult to recognize early. The “wet” (effusive) form—often involving fluid in the abdomen or chest—is typically easier to detect and diagnose.

𝐖𝐞𝐭 (𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞) 𝐅𝐈𝐏: Typically involves the buildup of fluid in the abdomen, causing a swollen or “pot-bellied” appearance. Fluid may also accumulate in the chest, which can lead to breathing changes or difficulty.
𝐃𝐫𝐲 (𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞) 𝐅𝐈𝐏: Often, unkempt coat, presents more subtly, with signs such as persistent fever, low energy, poor appetite, weight loss/bony hip appearance, and a general failure to thrive. Symptoms may be vague and progress over time.
𝐎𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 (𝐞𝐲𝐞) 𝐅𝐈𝐏: May include redness, squinting, cloudiness, sensitivity to light, swollen eyes, or changes in pupil size or shape. Without prompt treatment, permanent vision changes can occur.
𝐍𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐈𝐏: Occurs when the disease affects the central nervous system. Signs may include unsteady walking (wobbly gait), weakness (often in the hind legs), difficulty jumping, tremors, behavioral changes, or seizures.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐬 𝐅𝐈𝐏 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝? FIP is treated with an 84 day course of an antiviral therapy called GS-441524, which has shown high success rates when started early.
In the United States, veterinarians may now prescribe compounded GS-441524 under current FDA enforcement discretion guidelines. Early diagnosis and treatment are key to the best outcomes.

Early recognition and action save lives like Tabitha Twinkles!

A Look Inside the Happy Tails Ball on March 21 2026
Sweet She-Ra was within hours of euthanasia at a municipal shelter simply because they had run out of space.

Several rescues much larger than ours had already declined to help her due to her age, FIV status, and dental needs. She’s missing most of her teeth and will need dental surgery.

But none of that changes who She-Ra is — a gentle, affectionate cat who simply wanted someone to give her a chance.

When our team at New Hope Animal Rescue received the message about She-Ra, we knew we couldn’t let those circumstances be the reason her life ended.

So we scrambled to find a foster home and made the decision to stretch our already strained resources to save her. This is the reality of rescue — making difficult decisions every day for dogs and cats who are running out of time in overcrowded shelters.

She-Ra was rescued on March 3rd, during the week of Amplify Austin, the largest giving campaign in Central Texas.

Because of this campaign, a generous donor offered to match every gift dollar-for-dollar up to $10,000, doubling the impact for animals like She-Ra.

Every donation helps us say yes when the next urgent call comes for a dog or cat who has nowhere else to turn.

If you’d like to help animals like She-Ra get their second chance, you can support our rescue here:

Even $1 can help us save another life.

Thank you for being a voice for animals who have none.

Senior Cat Saved Just Hours Before Euthanasia | She-Ra’s Rescue Story
Goose was purchased for $900 from a breeder, but but just 48 hours after being purchased, Goose was surrendered to a shelter and at real risk of euthanasia. Given that history, it makes sense that he carries attachment and separation challenges from his past. Another rescue declined him because they couldn't take a behavior case, but all we saw was a misunderstood dog that needed patience and time and loving guidance. Thankfully, we had an amazing foster home for him and hew was adopted into an amazing home that is committed to his specific needs!
Goose was adopted!
