Description:

If you’ve been searching for a tiny best friend whose greatest passions in life are snuggling, lounging, and accompanying you absolutely everywhere — Gussy may be your guy.

Gussy came to the shelter as a stray already microchipped, but heartbreakingly, no one came for him. At 15 years old, after a lifetime of companionship, this tiny senior deserved so much better. Thankfully, rescue stepped in, and Gussy has been soaking up the comfort, safety, and love of foster care ever since.

This adorable little 7 pound Chihuahua mix is the definition of an easy companion. He’s calm, affectionate, gentle, and happiest when he’s close to his people or curled up beside another dog. Gussy has quickly made himself at home in foster care, happily cuddling up with both dogs and soaking up all the cozy moments life has to offer.

And honestly? The boy may love sleep more than anyone we’ve ever met.

Gussy is a world-class napper who can drift off almost anywhere — in your arms, in a cozy bag during walks, beside you on the couch, or tucked into bed for the night. His foster jokes that he needs about 23 hours of sleep a day, and honestly… it may not be far from the truth.

Despite his love of lounging, Gussy still enjoys little adventures. He happily joins his foster on walks and trots along surprisingly well for such a tiny guy before eventually deciding he’d much rather be carried like the tiny prince he is.

He’s house trained with very minimal accidents and has been incredibly easy to live with overall. Gussy is quiet, sweet-natured, and very low drama — though he definitely prefers being with his people over spending time in a crate. More than anything, he simply wants togetherness, comfort, and companionship.

The rescue has already completed bloodwork and urine testing for Gussy, and thankfully his veterinarian did not find anything concerning. Next up, this sweet little senior will be getting a much-needed dental so he can continue feeling his best heading into this next chapter of life.

Gussy would thrive in a home looking for a calm little shadow to share slow mornings, cozy evenings, sunny naps, and short strolls with. He doesn’t need much to be happy — just soft blankets, loving arms, and someone who appreciates a tiny dog with an enormous cuddle capacity.

Also worth mentioning: he is unbelievably soft. Like, suspiciously soft. You’ve been warned. 💛
