Born with wobbly legs and a heart that doesn’t know how not to love, Maudie is resilience wrapped up in the sweetest, funniest little package. She had a tough start in life, and yes, her back legs work a little differently than most dogs’. But let’s be very clear: her legs do not hold her back — they’re part of what makes her unforgettable.

Maudie goes on daily walks, runs joyfully after her foster siblings in the yard, and even climbs stairs like a champ. She has places to go and people to charm, and she’s not waiting around for permission.

Her unique gait tends to stop people in their tracks — not out of pity, but curiosity. Her “disability” is actually her superpower: a built-in conversation starter that draws people in… and then she seals the deal with her gentle, affectionate nature.

Maudie is the kind of dog who starts out a little shy, then blossoms into a confident, loving companion. She’s independent and capable, but she also adores other dogs, adults, kids, men, women — basically anyone willing to be kind. She currently lives peacefully with an infant and does amazingly well, showing just how intuitive and gentle she is.

She’s also smart and eager to please. Maudie knows her name, understands “treat” (very important), and is a willing, enthusiastic student. House training is solid, she sleeps through the night with zero accidents, and she can be left alone for 5+ hours without issue.

And that crate everyone worries about? She loves it. Maudie happily puts herself to bed each night and sees her crate as a cozy, safe place — no drama, no stress.
