Description:

Nigel is a senior English Bulldog with a heart as big as his adorable, wrinkly face. This sweet, silly boy is a social butterfly who loves everyone he meets—humans and dogs alike. Whether it’s trotting up to strangers for rubs, snuggling with his favorite people, or happily playing with his foster doggy siblings, Nigel knows how to spread joy wherever he goes. He’s also a huge fan of car rides, making him the perfect road trip buddy.

Life with Nigel is full of charm and laughter. He has a knack for goofy antics that keep everyone smiling, whether he’s rolling his favorite ball around the house or showing off his love for Nylabones. While he enjoys bursts of playtime, Nigel is mostly a laid-back companion who’s just as happy lounging around and soaking up affection.

Nigel’s foster family has been working on his training, and he’s doing great. He knows how to “sit” and go to his “crate” on command and is learning to “lay down.” Treats, toys, and affection keep him motivated, so training sessions are both fun and productive. While he’s not fully house-trained yet, frequent bathroom breaks and lots of positive reinforcement have helped minimize accidents. He’s also making great strides with his crate training and happily settles in with a tasty treat or bone to keep him occupied.

Of course, like any bulldog, Nigel has a few quirks that make him unique. He’s not shy about expressing his opinions on where he’d like to go during walks, occasionally planting his feet if he has a specific direction in mind. He also loves to chew, and while he has plenty of toys to keep him busy, wooden furniture can be a tempting target, so he’ll need supervision and redirection. It’s  best to only give high value big bones while he’s in his crate because he doesn’t want to share those with other fur babies.

Nigel would thrive in a calm, loving home with at least one other dog for companionship. He truly shines when he has a furry friend to play with or snuggle up to, and he’s happiest in a family that appreciates his endearing bulldog quirks. His ideal home would include someone who enjoys spending time with their pets, whether that’s lounging together, taking leisurely walks, or going on car rides.

If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly, and slightly silly companion to fill your home with love and laughter, Nigel is ready to be your new best friend. Apply to adopt him today—you’ll never regret making this charming boy part of your family!
