Description:

Meet Alfie, the charming social butterfly with a face that will melt your heart.

Alfie is a happy-go-lucky, very well-behaved pup who puts smiles on everyone he meets. He gets along with dogs and humans alike and basks in love and attention from both. Incredibly smart for his age and food-motivated, he is eager to obey commands like “sit” and learn new tricks. His foster mom also says he is “an angel” in car rides.

He is very close to mastering the art of potty training, and though he had trouble holding his pee when he first came to his foster home he now sleeps through the night with no accidents!

With a curious spirit, Alfie loves exploring on walks and playing in the backyard. Despite his youthful energy he is easy to tire and loves a good nap! He is happy in his crate or playpen during downtime, and though he enjoys the company of others he is comfortable being alone as well. His foster mom says he is not a “morning dog,” often enjoying an extended cuddle session on the couch when he’s not ready to wake up.

While he typically sticks to his toys for playtime Alfie has a penchant for stealing shoes and snuggling with them on the couch—a habit his foster mom says is “too endearing” to put an end to.

Something that makes Alfie stand out is his intuitive and compassionate demeanor. He has a knack for sensing when someone isn't feeling their best — whether they’re canine or human — and is quick to lend a comforting nuzzle to whatever friend is in need. For such a young dog this is truly amazing!!

Despite his small size, Alfie's adult teeth are fully in suggesting he won't grow much larger. He is currently 23 lbs and the vet predicts he'll only reach about 30 lbs when fully grown so he will remain delightfully compact to join you on life’s adventures as he blossoms into adulthood!

Note about the breed: The indicated breed is our best estimate based on visual characteristics, but without a DNA test, we cannot guarantee its accuracy. However, mixed-breed dogs, lovingly known as mutts, encompass a wonderful variety of traits and are often some of the most cherished and lovable companions.
