Description:
Bambi’s owners would betray her in her senior years, surrendering her to a high-kill south Texas shelter and she was shaking in fear. Sadly, the shelter abruptly closed due to Covid-19, so we waited anxiously for two more weeks before we could confirm she was still alive and could be brought to Austin. Once here, her vet exam would reveal she had healed rib fractures and that she is high heartworm positive. She is a very sweet, but timid dog who will whimper and cower if she hears a raised voice, but she does not nip. Her foster is teaching her how to feel safe again. Bambi needs a quiet, calm, forever home to live out her golden years. She is doing well with the other dogs in her foster home and is house trained. She will sleep soundly through the night once she adjusts to a new environment. She enjoys snuggling but is learning to be less of velcro dog as she starts to feel more secure. She has started her heartworm treatment and road to emotional and physical recovery.
