Description:

Meet Penny, a beautiful, yellow collie mix with a heart full of love!

Nothing makes Penny happier than receiving affection from her humans. You never have to worry where you stand with Penny, as she is a loyal dog who adores her pack and thrives on being part of a family. Whether you're cuddling on the couch or taking a leisurely stroll, Penny's affectionate nature will warm your heart. Penny’s  foster fur sister is the alpha female, but Penny has no issues playing a supporting role.

In her foster home, Penny has never shown any destructive tendencies, making her the perfect housemate. She's also made friends easily with other dogs in foster care and is a star on the leash. Even if a squirrel or a barking dog tries to distract her, Penny is easily redirected.

Penny would thrive in an active family setting, especially with older kids, as she can be enthusiastic in her greetings as she has an endearing habit of being a bit "mouthy" and offering hugs when you get home. She's just so excited to greet and see you. This usually only lasts for about 30 seconds before she's completely calm and content. While a yard isn't a must, a commitment to regular walks and playtime with other dogs would make her day.

With medium energy levels, Penny also enjoys solo bone-chewing sessions. She's equally happy snoozing half the day away or keeping an eye on the neighborhood squirrels through the window.

Penny is highly motivated by treats and affection, making training a breeze. Penny is a quick learner, already knowing commands like "sit," and she's working on "shake." She's both crate and potty trained, making her a well-mannered house guest.

Penny is not accustomed to being crated for more than 4 hours, so is seeking a home where she is not crated for extended periods [with the exception of overnight].

Are you ready to welcome Penny into your heart and home? She's eagerly waiting to be your loyal companion!

Note about the breed: The indicated breed is our best estimate based on visual characteristics, but without a DNA test, we cannot guarantee its accuracy.
