Pickles is proof that life can take unexpected turns—but he’s safe now and ready for a fresh start. Adopted from a shelter back in 2014, Pickles somehow ended up back at this same shelter after being found in the streets—his owners never came for him despite many calls made, which put him at immediate risk of euthanasia due to overcrowding. Thankfully, Pickles is beginning a new, hopeful chapter with us—and with a bit of luck, his final, happiest chapter will be written with you!

This sweet senior has surprised us with how adaptable he is, quickly settling into his foster home and getting along well with her dog pack. On his very first day, he felt safe enough to snuggle with the dogwalker—showing how eager he is to connect and share affection. Curious and confident, Pickles enjoys exploring his new surroundings and loves to give sweet kisses to anyone he meets.

Pickles has a few charming quirks that make him extra special. When it’s time to rest, he likes to find the oddest little spots for his naps that show us he’s already secure and confident in his new surroundings. And when he drifts off, prepare for the most adorable little snores you’ve ever heard. Though he’s in his golden years, he still has plenty of spirit—he even tried to mount a 40-pound dog in his foster home, proving he’s still spry and perhaps a little dominant! He’s also easygoing with grooming and brushing, making him a low-maintenance charmer.

We are still getting to know this sweet boy, but it’s clear that Pickles is ready for his forever home, where he’ll be loved and secure for the rest of his days. Stay tuned as we help him complete his rescue journey and prepare him for the bright future he deserves!
