We Are On YouTube

A puppy was found alone on the grounds of a church in an area sadly known for frequent pet dumping. While we can’t say for certain how she ended up there—whether she became lost or was abandoned—there were no signs of an owner nearby, and she was in clearly poor condition: underweight, missing fur, and covered in fleas.

Thanks to one of our volunteers who couldn’t walk away, New Hope Animal Rescue stepped in to provide urgent veterinary care—vaccinations, deworming, flea prevention, and high-quality nutrition—and will continue caring for her while we determine if she has an owner looking for her.

For now, what we know is this: she’s safe, healing, and receiving the care and shelter she deserves.
Puppy Abandoned at a Church Rescued
**Meet Momo: Your Resilient and Playful Sidekick!**
*Female | Shar Pei/Pit Mix | 9 Months | 49 lbs*

Momo’s story is one of strength and resilience. Watching her play here with little Scooter, it's hard to imagine it was just a couple months ago that we found her at the shelter where she was missing most of her fur, severely underweight and suffering from entropion in both eyes. She was also going to be euthanized that day if we didn't take her. Despite it all, Momo greeted us with a gentle spirit you see here, so we knew we couldn’t leave her behind.

One of Momo’s most endearing qualities is how quickly she forms bonds, like she has with her new foster fur sibling Scooter in this video. She’s the kind of dog who makes friends wherever she goes—whether it’s the vet staff after just a day or her friends at South Paws Daycare where she practiced loose leash walking, Momo falls in love quickly with dogs and people, and she has a way of weaving herself into people’s hearts. Her affectionate, people-oriented nature means that she embraces new experiences and places with an open heart, always eager to connect and be part of the moment.

Momo is an affectionate and loyal companion who bonds deeply with her person. She loves being close, always wanting to be part of whatever you’re doing. While she craves connection, she also benefits from a balance of love and structure. In her foster home, consistent routines and gentle guidance have helped her feel secure and more independent, allowing her to confidently explore new environments.

She’s incredibly smart and eager to please, making her a quick learner. Momo already knows how to “sit” (often before you even ask!) and will happily go into her crate with just a point. She’s house-trained and steadily improving her manners, including her tendency to jump when she’s excited.

Playful and social, Momo enjoys interacting with other dogs of all sizes. Her play style is flexible—sometimes she’s the leader, other times she’s more submissive. Regardless, she would thrive with a dog buddy who shares her love of play. Momo’s lively energy is balanced by her desire to connect, and she’s learning to manage her enthusiasm while also growing more confident and independent.

Her ideal home would be a single-family house with a yard where she can play and explore. An active person or family who can provide love, structure, and consistent training would be perfect for her. Since Momo can be a bit too enthusiastic when giving kisses or greeting people, we recommend a home without young children (teenagers or adults only).

Momo has a heart full of love and potential—she just needs a family who will help her continue to mature into the dog she’s meant to be. If you’re looking for a resilient, playful companion who will brighten your days, Momo is ready to meet you!
Momo shows how sweet she is
Sweet Kokomo is coming up on a year in rescue through no fault of her own. We suspect adopters might overlook her since she's a middle aged girl and also missing some fur that will never grow back but she looks so beautiful to us! She was missing 100% of her fur when she cam to us last November due to sever neglect from her owners. Unfortunately she has "elephant skin" on her under side where fur will never grow, but she is still gorgeous inside and out!

Karen was adopted and wishes you a very Happy East Karen was adopted and wishes you a very Happy Easter from her new home!
Please Welcome Little Stuart to New Hope! At 13 Please Welcome Little Stuart to New Hope!

At 13 years old and just 6 pounds, Stuart is a tiny gentleman with a huge heart. He was trembling at a shelter where no one came forward to reclaim him, which happens way too often but especially with senior pets!

Stuart is underweight and currently getting the medical care he needs, but already proving to be one of the sweetest little souls you’ll ever meet.

He’s calm, gentle, and loves being close to his person—especially if you’re handing out turkey bacon. He enjoys short walks, snack breaks, and then settles in for some serious nap time. And the way he gets after tortilla chips is downright hilarious—so guard your food!

Stuart doesn’t ask for much—just a soft place to land, a warm lap when available, and a steady supply of treats. He may be small and senior, but his love is big and steady.

Stuart is dealing with some health issues and so we are not quite sure just yet if he's "fospice" or will be made available for adoption. But whatever the outcome, we will make sure he has a quiet home where he can be cherished and showered with snacks like he deserves!

TGIF from Woody the 22 lb Exotic Micro Bully 🐾💙**

Our sweet little Woody is breathing easier today after two important surgeries yesterday—soft palate resection and nostril widening—both performed to help him breath more comfortably. These procedures are common (and often necessary) for bulldogs and exotic bully mixes and our rescue often provides these surgeries to the bulldogs we rescue from shelters.

But here’s what every future bulldog adopter should know:

**They come with a great deal of financial and safety responsibility.
**Breathing issues, skin and eye conditions, and orthopedic concerns are common and stairs can be very challenging for the.
**Many have food allergies and skin sensitivities requiring special diets, shampoos or medications.
**Daily hygiene is a must—especially cleaning skin folds and tail pockets.
*They’re extremely heat-intolerant and must never be left outside or use dog doors unsupervised [dog doors really aren't recommended due to heat intolerance]
**They can’t swim due to their body structure—they will sink. If you have a pool with no safety fencing - do not get a bulldog please.
**They are known for being stubborn and need patient consistent guidance.

These dogs give so much love and have come from situations of abandonment and often extreme physical neglect or even mishandling— they need a high level of commitment to the ongoing care and safety they deserve so please take that into consideration when you apply to adopt a bulldog. If you can offer that, we encourage you to apply with us or another organization!

Woody is snuggled up in his foster home as we review his applications, finally breathing easier, and stealing hearts one snort at a time.
